Wine Down Thursday: Wine Crush!
June 18 from 6 t0 7:30pm
Sampler: $20/person

Certain wines have that instant spark of connection, an energy or magic that seizes your attention right away. You don't have to search for nuance or dissect every detail; something about the wine simply speaks to you and draws you in. That effortless pull, that instant magic, is exactly what we're pouring this week. Our wine crush!
Join us on June 18, as we share three wines we're currently crushing on, personally selected by Katie, Crystal, and Kasia. From the windswept coast of northwestern Spain to the rolling hills of Slovenia and the historic vineyards of France's Loire Valley, we'll explore three distinctive bottles and the stories behind them, sharing what makes each wine so compelling and why they've earned a place on our current favorites list.

Featured Wines:
2023 Do Ferreiro Albariño
Widely regarded as a benchmark producer of Albariño, Do Ferreiro is located in the Val do Salnés, the heart of Spain’s Rías Baixas in Galicia. Gerardo Méndez and his father Francisco were among the original 14 growers who founded the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin in 1988. Gerardo has since introduced organic farming and restored traditional trellising methods to express the region's unique character. The valley's proximity to the ocean and natural protection from mountain ranges create ideal conditions for Albariño. The result is a wine that is vibrant, crisp, and endlessly refreshing, with bright notes of lime, pronounced stony minerality, and a lingering saline finish. The essence of the Spanish coast in every sip.

2019 Kabaj Sauvignon Blanc
Nestled in the rolling hills of Goriška Brda in western Slovenia, steps from the Italian border, Kabaj is a winery shaped by perseverance and deep respect for tradition. Zvonko Kabaj long dreamed of bottling wine from his family's estate, and when his daughter Katja married Paris-born winemaker Jean-Michel Morel, that vision became reality. Their first commercial vintage was 1993. After Zvonko's passing in 1997, Katja and Jean-Michel carried the estate forward. Inspired by travels to Georgia, Jean-Michel employs skin contact across all whites. This Sauvignon Blanc spends seven days on its skins and ages 24 months in French oak, yielding honeyed florals, savory herbs, and mineral depth.

2019 Domaine de la Chevalerie “Galichets” Bourgueil
Since 1640, the Caslot family has been rooted in Bourgueil, one of the Loire's great Cabernet Franc appellations. Today, the 14th generation, Emmanuel, Laurie, and Stéphanie Caslot, tend 33 certified biodynamic hectares in the commune of Restigné, farming with minimal intervention to let each lieu-dit speak. Galichets sits mid-slope on clay-sand soils with gravel and silex over tuffeau bedrock, from vines averaging 60 years of age. Aged in large old barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it's the most approachable expression in their parcellaire lineup, round and generous, with plum, cassis, earthy spice, and supple, resolved tannins.
