managing COVID-19
our commitment to our community
Reopening timeline
Step 1: Open the Yard - friday, June 12, 2020 (Updated 6/19)
Starting on Friday June 12, we’ll be opening our outdoor space for customers. We’ll be adding more tables and chairs outdoors, as well as shades, to safely accommodate you. While the indoor areas are closed, we will allow mobile and phone orders (even while you’re in the Yard), as well as limited counter service, and will run your food and drink out to you safely. Here is more info on how to order, and what happens after you’ve placed your order. Please make sure to read our general guidelines below for important information about keeping our community safe.
Step 2: Open the SHOP - No later than June 26, 2020
The shop will be the same neighborhood joint you depend on, albeit with a facelift designed to protect your safety - and ours. We have plans to open the shop no later than June 26, depending on how things go with the first phase of our re-opening plans. Capacity will be limited based on State guidelines, but we’re confident that with the additional space outside, we’ll be able to create a safe environment and a delightful experience for our entire community.
York Health & Safety Modifications
No one is permitted to work if they are experiencing any symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat.
Anyone who reports symptoms must self-quarantine.
We will continue to wear masks and gloves and maintain distance from you during the pickup process.
We are all wearing masks while working.
We wash our hands and change gloves multiple times per hour.
ALL equipment, work spaces, and commonly- and frequently-touched items are sanitized multiple times per day. In some cases, we have moved stations around to allow us to do our work with a 6-foot distance between one another.
If we need to cross paths with less than a 6 foot distance, we do it quickly – sometimes we even hold our breath.
We have created hand sanitizing stations throughout the shop for you to use.
The bathrooms will be sanitized (wiping down frequently touched and used surfaces like faucet handles, stall handles, flushers, etc.) twice as frequently as we normally would.
CUSTOMER ORDERING GUIDELINES
We look forward to seeing you again in person! please review our ordering guidelines below (updated 6/19):
You may order in advance online (via our website or the Toast app) or by phone and choose "Yardside" (to dine in) or “Curbside” (for takeout). Alternatively, when you arrive, you will be greeted by a host and then may proceed to place your order at the counter (you may also open a tab). If you’ve ordered in advance, please be sure to let the host know so that we can check you in and deliver your food tableside.
Once you’ve checked in with the host, and placed your order, you will be seated at a table and may sit down while you wait for your food and drinks.
Food will be delivered to each table via a runner wearing gloves and a mask (food will be carried out on a tray).
If you’d like to order more food, you may enter the building to order at the counter, call the main number, or go online to place your order (if you’re ordering by phone or online, please let us know that you’re already seated).
From time-to-time, you may see a server outside taking orders tableside.
Of course, you should stay home if you’re feeling ill or displaying symptoms.
GENERAL RULES
WE’re doing our best to keep our community safe & happy. Please review the general rules below and note that things may change quickly as we adjust to this new reality.
Be respectful of others and of their comfort level with social and physical distance. YORK is asking patrons to maintain a 6’ distance from one another for the safety of our community.
Customers are asked to bus their own tables. Once bussed, YORK staff will clean and reset the table. You’ll know a table is clean when there’s [only] an empty wine bottle sitting on it. Please do not sit at an empty table unless it has only an empty wine bottle on top of it.
If a customer needs to use the restroom, they must wear a mask in order to enter the building.
Tables and capacity are limited, so customers are asked to not linger after your meal/experience so that the next customers can get seated.
There is no self-service, so if you want water when you’re seated, please let someone know. Your napkins and cutlery will come out with your meal.
No outside food will be allowed at this time. Food at our tables is limited to concessions from York, Ricewood, Bao Boys or any other affiliated partner.
You can seat up to six people at each picnic table, but all customers sitting together must be in the same party.
York staff will be periodically floating outside to service any customer needs.
