Wine Down Thursday: Txakoli
August 13 from 6 to 7:30pm
Sampler: $20/person

Join us to explore Txakoli, the sparkling-hearted white wine that captures the Atlantic soul of Spain’s Basque Country. Brisk, saline, and irresistibly refreshing, it is the region’s wine: shaped by cool coastal air, steep green vineyards, and a table culture built around seafood and celebration. We’ll taste one wine from Bizkaiko Txakolina and two from Getariako Txakolina, tracing distinct expressions of place. Raise a glass to one of summer’s most joyful pleasures with friends, and sunshine!

Featured Wines:
2024 Lasalde Elkartea Balea
Discover why 2024 Lasalde Elkartea's Balea Getariako Txakolina deserves a permanent spot in your summer rotation. Crafted from organic Hondarrabi Zuri overlooking Spain's Bay of Biscay, this Basque bottle bursts with lemon zest, green apple, and white-flower aromatics, layered over a saline mineral core and delicate natural spritz. Racy acidity, featherweight texture, and a light 11% ABV make it thrillingly drinkable—one glass always invites another. Pour from a height to awaken its vibrant coastal energy. The elevated pour is a classic Txakoli service that amplifies its aromatics and delicate spritz.

2025 Ameztoi Rubentis
This is the original pink Txakoli, a cult Basque rosé that’s impossibly drinkable yet deeply expressive. A perfect field blend of Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza, including vines planted as early as 1840, it ferments together in stainless steel and retains natural carbonation for a fine, delicate mousse. Bracing acidity, red-berry snap, saline lift, and low alcohol make each sip feel like pure seaside refreshment—a must-try benchmark of the style. Pure summer joy!

2024 Ugabe Unfiltered Txakoli
Unfiltered and full of raw Basque personality, 2024 Ugabe is a vibrant Bizkaiko Txakolina that charts its own course beside its Getaria neighbors. A hazy, lightly skin-contact expression of Hondarrabi Zuri, it layers tart green apple, nectarine, lemon zest, and a savory sea-spray edge over fine lees-derived texture and subtle yeastiness. Electric acidity keeps the palate bouncy and bone-dry, while its slightly broader frame makes this coastal original especially irresistible with shellfish, salty snacks, and sunlit tables.
